Clinical trials for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
Researching better treatment options.
Clinical trials help clinicians discover safe and effective treatments for various
cancers – including CLL.
Using human participants as volunteers, some trials test the safety and effectiveness
of a new drug or medical procedure. Clinical trials also help doctors
determine if existing treatments, procedures, and methods can be used in different
ways or for other diseases.
While every clinical trial has different eligibility criteria, the following factors will be taken into consideration:
- the type of cancer you have
- the stage of your cancer
- if you have had previous treatments
- how long it’s been since your last cancer treatment
- lab test results
- your current medications
- history of cancer and other medications
- activity level
- your gender and age
- any other conditions specific to the clinical trial
